Skull Study

I did some work recently on the lower jaw. I see some progression in paint style from the top of skull that uses large broad strokes to the lower jaw that use smaller strokes. Eh, its a work in progress. I'm amassing material for my next piece tho, can't say what it is, you'll have to wait. Cheers!

Cloud Study

I'm trying to remember how Bob Ross made his happy little clouds cus mine are rebeling. I actually took a friends advice and tried to paint clouds based on a picture. I infused a bit more color in the sky than I saw to make it pop a bit. Still getting used to the program but there will be more to come....for the other one person reading this.

ArtRage

ArtRage is a painting program that I've been experimenting with. Its a free, very light and completely intuitive program that gets great results. This was a piece that didn't take more than an hour and I was just getting used to how the program operates and what things I can accomplish with it. I guess right off the bat in the free version its difficult to get a feathered blend with whats availible. But then again, this isn't PS and I'm probably doing something wrong. Enjoy.

George Washington

First Post!...old art

So first off, thx to Edwin Rosell, cooworker and arteest extraordinaire, for taking my "blogger verginity."

This was a piece I did for my first portfolio and was also my first illustration piece using PS. Yes, I did wind up getting a job tho not in illustration. For my first I'd say its not bad, I am currently exploring brushes and Edwin is giving me techniques to make life easier. Some of the materials in this seem too soft and don't represent very well. I'm happy tho that my concept didn't wander far from what I had originally intended so for that....I will drink.
